Join Us
We invite you to come and see our Phoenix Life Skills Training program in action. Every Wednesday when we have Phoenix we invite leaders of the community to join us for lunch.
DJ and Jody Rodrian (next to Mike Rintelman) are just two of the many faithful supporters and volunteers of The Milwaukee Outreach Center. We want you!
In my house as I am sure it is in yours, Christmas is eagerly awaited. It is planned and prepared for. But what would happen if Christmas didn’t come again for you? In the children’s classic, “How the Grinch stole Christmas,” the Grinch puts forward a plan that he believes will stop all the celebrations. To no avail. Christmas came -- “it came just the same.” But what if it didn’t – for you?
Recent events remind us that life is like a vapor. On November 24 four high school youth were in a serious car accident in Ozaukee County. Only one is still surviving and is in critical condition. On December 2 three Mukwonago high school students were killed in a traffic accident on their way home from the Wisconsin Dells. I am certain that the thought of not having their children and siblings around ever entered the minds of their families.
As 2007 comes to an end, what kind of legacy have you left? I know for myself that I want to leave a godly model for others to follow. I want to be a parent that teaches my children that a life founded on Christ is the most rewarding of all. I want to be a husband that shows my wife the love, care, and appreciation that she needs. I want to be a leader that demonstrates integrity in all my dealings with people. And, I want to be able to make a difference in the lives of those we serve through TMOC.
Recently we were asked the hypothetical question, “Would TMOC be missed if it closed tomorrow?” This is a good question that talks about legacy. Well, this year about 80 students wouldn’t have had the opportunity to pursue change in their lives through our Phoenix program. Thirty two students wouldn’t have had the opportunity to participate in our work adjustment program leading over 20 to obtain employment. Many students would not have had a counselor and case worker to help them through the struggles of pursuing a new life in Christ with new motivation and new purpose.

No Regrets conference

Board member Thom McMahan mans TMOC's booth at Elmbrook's No Regret conference in February.
The No Regrets conference is a statewide conference for Christian men. There were 5,000 men in attendance at Elmbrook Church and 1,000 men at Westbrook Church. The Milwaukee Outreach Center had booths set up at both locations. It was a great opportunity to present our services to the community of believers. One of our March 2008 graduates heard about us from this conference.
